4/8/2016 - Lecture Notes Note these include some clicker questions we didn't get to, I leave them in so you can use them for extra exam study

4/7/2016 - Several of you pointed out that the extension policy from the syllabus (automatic extension for 2 days at a penalty of 30%) off wasn't working with webassign. I believe I have fixed that issue. Getting an extension in webassign is detailed here. Note that the 30% penalty is on questions answered after the extension is requested, so it is in your best interest to finish as much as you can before requesting the extension. A side effect of fixing the extension policy is that the homework due date moved to the end of today, so for those of you who didn't finish the homework, you get a lucky chance to get full credit because of my mistake.

In order to access prelecture and checkpoints, you need to sign up for Smartphysics through: flipitphysics.com Course key: P122A-Sp16

SmartPhysics is a series of lessons (Prelectures) and questions (Checkpoints) that you complete prior to most lectures. It is a fantastially useful system that we have tested extensively here at UW. Student feedback has been very very positive. My Lectures will be wrapped around most of the SP lessons, your answers, your explanations, and so on.

The SmartPhysics system also provides homework problems; many are interactive and allow you to work with hints and other modern online tools. You have access to these homework lessons as purely optional materials for you. You do not have to do any of them, but they provide extra practice problems with feedback and these problems are quite appropriate to the material we are presenting

We will use clickers on the first day, but clicker registration will not occur until later

The first prelecture isn't due until Wednesday, but I encourage you to get to it earlier if possible
