Our collaborative work titled: “Enzymatic and Free Radical Formation of Cis- and Trans- Epoxyeicosatrienoic Acids In Vitro and In Vivo” in collaboration with the Totah Lab was accepted for publication in the journal Free Radical Biology and Medicine. This is the first demonstration that both trans and cis- epoxyeicosatrienoic acids (EETs) can be formed from arachidonic acid under free radical oxidation condition.
NSF Grant Awarded!
Our project “Mechanisms of Peroxyl Radical Addition Reactions” was funded by the National Science Foundation for three years! This project will investigate the fundamental chemistry of lipid peroxidation! Thanks to our members who have contributed to this project, Andrew Dinh, David Lee, and David Kennedy, and congratulations to all!
Welcome Ryan Seguin and Congratulate him on receiving EP/T postdoctoral training grant!
We welcome Ryan Seguin, a UW Med Chem product, to join our lab as a postdoctoral fellow! And congratulations to Ryan on receiving his Environmental Pathology/Toxicology training grant to start his new position! Way to go, Ryan!
Welcome Amy Li to join our lab!
Great to have you back, Amy!
Libin, Kelly, and Dylan attended ASMS
Welcome Lisa Lai!
Lisa Lai, a sophomore here at the UW, joins us as a undergraduate volunteer starting this quarter! Welcome, Lisa!
Welcome Cecilia Tran!
Cecilia is currently a senior at the University of Washington majoring in Biochemistry and joins us as an undergraduate research assistant! Welcome Cecilia!
Our paper on HILIC-IM-MS-based lipidomics was accepted to the Journal of Lipid Research!
Congratulations to Kelly and Josi on their paper “Assessment of Altered Lipid Homeostasis by HILIC-Ion Mobility-Mass Spectrometry-Based Lipidomics” being accepted to the Journal of Lipid Research! This lipidomics methodology was developed based on the orthogonal HILIC and ion mobility separations, which enables lipid identification by lipid class polarity and collision cross sections (CCS) of individual species. The method was demonstrated by elucidating the effect of small molecules on lipid homeostasis in neuronal cells.
Kelly presents at the US Pharmacopeia!
As a recipient of the US Pharmacopeia (USP) Global Fellowship, Kelly presented her work on “Structural Characterization of Drug and Drug-Like Compounds by High-Throughput Ion Mobility-Mass Spectrometry” at the USP meeting!
Josi won poster award at the CHDD Biological Basis of Autism Poster Symposium
Josi presented on the topic of “Disruption of Lipid Homeostasis by Environmental Chemicals: Implication for Neurodevelopmental Disorders” at the CHDD Biological Basis of Autism Poster Symposium and was selected for one of three poster awards! Congrats, Josi! Well done!
