Griffin double majored in Cognitive Science with a Neuroscience Emphasis and Pharmaceutical Chemistry, receiving his bachelor’s degrees from the University of California, Davis. His academic pursuits are driven by a deep fascination with the interplay of chemistry, biophysics, and deep learning. Griffin gained experience in structural biology, physical chemistry, and biophysical enzymology while investigating the temperature dependence of enzyme-catalyzed reactions under the supervision of Dr. Michael Toney. This work led him to the Department of Medicinal Chemistry, where he is co-mentored by Dr. Libin Xu and Dr. Gaurav Bhardwaj. Griffin’s work aims to create novel tools for cyclic peptide design and to develop LC-IM-MS as a high-throughput method for characterizing their physicochemical properties. In his free time, Griffin enjoys rock climbing and spending time with his family, including his two ferrets, Lenny and Newton.
