Your first class exercise is due for today, but you don't need to do any reading for it. What you should do is, by 9:00 a.m on the day of class, post 300 words or so on a memorable experience in your own history of ethnographic research, one that raises questions of ethics, methods, or both. And as soon as you have posted your analysis of your experience, find someone else's and post a comment (any length you like) on it. We will spend the class dealing with questions that arise from your self-analysis or self-critique. |
