I'm Still Grading
This parody (written by Greg Crowther) is sung to the tune of
"I'm Still Standing"
(written by
Elton John and Bernie Taupin
and performed by
Elton John).
This song was written to accompany an oral presentation of the paper Chatbot responses suggest that hypothetical biology questions are harder than realistic ones. It is sung from the perspective of a professor who, in conducting a study of chatbot "knowledge," finds the chatbots' endless flexibility and persistence kind of cool but also exhausting.
Let me just tell you what it's like:
Students who respond as fast as I can type!
They're up for every topic that I choose,
And I've got to say that I like
Those formal words they use!
They're never ill and they're never bored;
They field a hundred questions and they ask for more!
You know I love to teach, but at the end of a day,
I kind of wish my students
would just fade away!
Don't you know I'm still grading longer than I ever did?
These LLM bots won't quit;
They kind of make me miss the kids!
And I'm still grading after all this time,
No longer bound by neural limits of the human mind!
I'm still grading! (Yeah, yeah, yeah!)
I'm still grading! (Yeah, yeah, yeah!)
I'm still grading! (Yeah, yeah, yeah!)
I'm still grading! (Yeah, yeah, yeah!)
