RT-PCR reservations

As of January 2010, frequent use of the lab's RT-PCR machine by multiple users has prompted us to set up an online calendar for reserving the machine. All users should follow the guidelines below; please contact me (crowther@u.washington.edu) with questions and comments.

Users should make a reservation every single time they plan to use the machine, even if they want to use it immmediately and the calendar says that it's available. If everyone obeys this rule, nobody will ever arrive at the machine expecting to use it, only to find that it is already in use.

To make a reservation, please follow the steps below.

1. Log out of your own personal Yahoo account if you have one and are logged in.

2. Go to http://calendar.yahoo.com/huskyscientist/ to see the current calendar.

3. Log into the account associated with this calendar by clicking the "Sign in" box in toward the upper right corner of the window. The username is huskyscientist (no capitals, spaces, underscores, or periods); the password is a sound that a Husky makes (beginning with a capital W and ending with two exclamation points).

4. Click on the day on which you want to make a reservation, then click the "Add event" box toward the upper left corner of the window. Include your name in the event title, and adjust the date, start time, and end time to cover your anticipated period of use.
