Comments: The pairwise damage interaction process, also referred to as binary misrepair, always produces a mutation (mainly exchange-type chromosome aberrations). Fraction GAM of these chromosome aberrations are lethal. Sachs et al. argued that roughly 1/4 of the chromosome aberrations formed through the pairwise interaction process are lethal (i.e., GAM=0.25).
