Syntax: CCKM: N0={initial number of cells} Example: CCKM: N0=1.0E+06
Purpose: Expected number of cells at start of simulation (t = 0). Data Type: real number Unit: n/a Default: 1 Comments: The initial cell population size can be specified using the N0 or F0 parameter (NOTE: N0 = F0*KAP*VOL). When the initial cell population size is small compared to KAP*VOL, cell growth kinetics are exponential. As the size of the cell population approaches KAP*VOL, the net cell birth rate decreases so that the cell population size approaches the asymptotic value KAP*VOL (i.e., KAP*VOL is the maximum cell population size). Specification of the cell population size is important for tumor control probability (TCP) calculations.
