Set Initial Number of Cells (F0=)
CCKM: keyword (or sample input files)

Syntax:    CCKM: F0={fraction of max. population size (set initial population size)}
Example: CCKM: F0=1.0E-09

Purpose: Fraction of the maximum size of the cell population at start of simulation (t = 0).
Data Type:
real number
Unit:
n/a
Default: 1/(KAP*VOL)
Comments:  The initial cell population size can be specified using the N0 or F0 parameter (NOTE: N0 = F0*KAP*VOL).  When the initial cell population size is small compared to KAP*VOL, cell growth kinetics are exponential.  As the size of the cell population approaches KAP*VOL, the net cell birth rate decreases so that the cell population size approaches the asymptotic value KAP*VOL (i.e., KAP*VOL is the maximum cell population size).  Specification of the cell population size is important for tumor control probability (TCP) calculations.
