Some psychologists also publish books addressing the day-to-day psychological issues that most concern the general public. Often, these works build upon sound data, but tend to simplify most of the complexities, turning the findings into "how-to" and "10 Step" programs for self-improvement. These works are meant for an audience that, rather than digging more deeply into the research in the field, wants to make immediate behavioral or attitudinal changes.
