The Cretaceous–Paleogene (K-Pg) boundary is the time boundary between the Age of Dinosaurs and the Age of Mammals. Age determinations from tuffs associated with signatures of the extraterrestrial impact place the K-Pg boundary at 66.04 Ma (million years ago). The boundary is associated with the mass extinction event that signaled the demise of the non-avian dinosaurs, in addition to up to 75% of all species on Earth.
