Set options for scenario rescaling (OPT=)
RADX: keyword (or sample input files)

Syntax:
    RADX: OPT={dose rescaling option}
Example:
    RADX: OPT=1       !adjust delivered dose by increasing or decreasing the dose rate.

Purpose: Set the method use to rescale the total dose delivered in the baseline exposure scenario.

  • opt=0: increase or decrease the duration of the entire exposure scenario. The size and timing of any acute dose events is adjusted to preserve the overall temporal pattern of radiation delivery.

  • opt=1: multiply the absorbed dose rate(s) by a constant scale factor.
  • opt=2: Same as OPT=0 except the duration of time intervals that do not deliver any radiation (i.e., the dose rate is zero) are not modified. Also, the times when instantaneous (acute) dose events occur are the same as in the baseline scenario.
  • opt=3:: Same as OPT=0 except the duration of time intervals that do not deliver any radiation (i.e., the dose rate is zero) are not modified.

Data Type: integer
Unit:
n/a
Default: -1 (no scaling by default)
Comments:  The baseline exposure scenario is defined by specifying using combinations of the AD, ADR and DOX parameters.  The delivered dose and dose rate are related by {delivered dose} = {dose rate} x {irradiation time}.  The baseline exposure scenario can then be re-scaled using the OPT and RND keywords.  The OPT and RND keywords are used to re-scale split-dose exposures, multi-fraction exposures, and other temporally complex exposure scenarios.
