Cell and Tumor Kinetics
The Virtual Cell has the capability to simulate cell and tissue kinetics using exponential or quasi-exponential (Gompertz-like) growth kinetics (e.g., see Figure 1). When combined with a damage repair/misrepair model, the expected number of cells during and after radiation therapy (or other types of exposure scenarios) can be simulated, as in Figure 2.
