Malaria Control
This is a partial list of studies that implemented large-scale malaria control with some sort of baseline and follow-up.
1954-1966 – The Pare-Taveta Malaria Scheme was a large scale IRS trial in a set of villages in Pare, Kenya and Taveta, Tanganyika. Spraying with deltamethrin started in 1957. Prelimary studies began in 1954 and continued through 1969.
1972-1973 – The Garki Project was a large malaria control trial in Garki, Nigeria. Interventions included IRS and mass drug administration. Spraying occurred over 18 months, from 1972-1973.
2011-2020 – During a longitudinal study in Tororo, Uganda that was part of the PRISM studies, a government run IRS program in 2015 sharply reduced transmission.
