Andrew Hodges, who wrote a biography of Alan Turing, maintains this Turing website. B.J. Copeland has built an extensive website containing both a brief history of how Alan Turing initiated AI and Alan Turing's papers. A more personal view is from David Leavitt's biography of Turing. Some of the founders of modern AI are: AAAI has a very good history bibliography that points to many articles on the history of artificial intelligence. Note that many of the articles are not freely available online, but can be accessed through the UW Library databases. Just a few hints: If the reference says "ACM", that stands for the Association for Computing Machinery, and their database is available under the "Computer Science" databases. Anything that says "IEEE" can be found under "Electrical Engineering." Most other references can be found in the Web of Science database. |
