ANTHROPOLOGY 469A/JSIS 484FTAIWAN: CULTURE, SOCIETY, HISTORYTOPICS AND READINGS FOR FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 5We will do the same thing we did on the 5th: Please watch the first reel of Hou Hsiao-hsien's A city of Sadness, 悲情城市 the classic work about 2-28, on reserve, and then we will watch the second reel together in class. We will talk about the uses to which 2-28 has been put by Taiwanese politicians and others from the time of the incident to the present, but particularly since the democratization. READINGS
