Today we get ready for our Saturday field trip by reading several things related to dairying in general and to dairies in Whatcom County in particular:

A short article about Dairy farmers' ecological good works

We will spend the day in class discussing the issues raised in the context of seeing dairy farms as ecosystems at their own scale, and as parts of ecosystems at larger scales, and planning for your Saturday field trip.
