Graduate Student Opening in Biomaterial Fabrication and Biocompatible Devices


We have an opening for a highly motivated graduate student interested in exploring self-assembled biomaterial micro- nanofabrication, and devices. Research will involve polysaccharide-based biomedical microdevices, and biological applications of the recently developed bioprotonic transistors.

Only candidates incoming in Fall 2011 or already accepted by a science or engineering graduate program at the University of Washington are eligible for this position. A Bachelor's Degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Bioengineering, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field is required. Previous research experience is desirable, but not necessary. Any related hands-on experience with maintenance and repair of electronics, cars, motorbikes, bikes, boats, DIY, and sporting equipment is a must. UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANT


Description:

Immediate opening for an undergraduate student with a background in science or engineering with coding experience to interface laboratory measurement equipment. This is an hourly paid position.


Requirements:

Must be proficient in C, C++, and LabView (GPIB/VISA). Candidates with additional experience in IDL and VXI Plug & Play preferred. Familiarity with current/voltage measurements is desirable.
