Essay Revision Option

Due Date:  Monday, May 15, in screening or in Kimberlee's office (Padelford A-16) by 5:00 p.m., with all previous drafts attached

Guidelines

If you received a grade below the A range (3.5-4.0) on your first essay, you may revise the essay for a new grade.  A revision constitutes a substantial reworking of the essay's content, not simply changing a few sentences and proofreading for grammatical errors.  If you wish to revise your essay, you must adhere to the following guidelines, or your revised essay will not be accepted:

1) Meet with me briefly to discuss plans for revision.  I will give you comments in addition to those on the paper.

2) Write a short memo to accompany the revision, explaining the changes you made and indicating why you feel these changes have improved the essay.

3) Understand that if you received a grade penalty due to lateness or a missed conference, that penalty will be deducted from the new grade for the revised essay.
