Response Assignment Two: Notes on the Sight Gag

Length:  One page
Due Date:  Wednesday, April 5, by 7:00 p.m. via email

Assignment

In a sentence or two, discuss Carroll's purpose for writing "Notes on the Site Gag."  Then, consider his definition of the sight gag and examination of its workings.  In general, how does Carroll define the sight gag?  Drawing on Carroll's discussion of sight gag types, identify examples of two types of sight gags in the films viewed for this week or last.  One example must come from The General.  Explain how your examples function in the ways Carroll describes.  Although Carroll discusses films we have viewed, your examples should differ from his.
