NSF Will Advance the LSST!: With approval from the National Science Board, the National Science Foundation (NSF) Director will advance the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST) to the final design stage. This action permits the NSF Director to include funds for LSST construction in a future budget request.

President Obama on LSST: President Obama and Chilean President Piñera highlighted the effective collaboration in the fields of astronomy and astro-engineering which will allow the operation of the LSST and ALMA telescopes in the northern Chile, involving an investment of 1.5 billion dollars, with a close collaboration between public and private academic and research institutions in both countries.

NSF Vera C. Rubin Observatory is the new name - the first national US observatory to be named after a woman scientist! But LSST remains: the Legacy Survey of Space and Time will be the first 10-year project to be executed at the Rubin Observatory using DOE LSST Camera. See also Rubin Observatory website.
