INTRODUCTION TO ENVIRONMENTAL ANTHROPOLOGY
WINTER QUARTER 2017
UNIT 1: INTRODUCTION TO AN INTRODUCTION
It will take one class session and one section this week to get us going. Then this Thursday, January 5, we begin with the real substance of the class.
DAILY SCHEDULES AND READINGS
Tuesday, January 3: Organization of the Class; What is EA?
For the first hour today I will go over how the class works, what you can expect from class sessions and quiz sections, introduce myself and ask Griff to introduce himself, go over assignments and grading, etc. For the second hour I will give a brief overview of Environmental Anthropology (or EA as we call it) and of the material we will be covering in the course.
Wednesday, January 4: Section: You and Your Environment
Your assignment is to post 100-200 words by 8:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 4, on "What is the environment and why is it important in my life." You will share your ideas briefly with other students in the section.
