New Horizons:

Finally, the Lingappa lab is also studying the regulation of the antiviral cellular protein, APOBEC3G (A3G). This protein, originally identified by Dr. Ann Sheehy in Dr. Michael Malim's group (Sheehy et al., 2002), can act as a innate intracellular host defense against HIV-1 and other viruses. The Lingappa lab, spearheaded by MSTP student Beth Thielen, is studying novel aspects of A3G regulation in human T cells.
