Monday April 24: Sustainability in Agro-Silvio-Pastoralism: A case study from Southwest China

Today Harrell presented a brief portion of one of his innumerable .ppts about The Upper Baiwu Valley in the mountains of Southwest China, this one about applying the concepts of sustainability to the historical tension between strategies of subsistence security and strategies of maximum productivity. It seemed to resonate better than I had hoped with the farm-scale and larger-scale questions of sustainability we had examined on the field trip to the Wenatchee Valley the previous day.
