Biography
Ruiyu graduated with a B.S. in Biology from Purdue University in 2015. As an undergraduate she investigated bird song and mating behavior of Brown Headed cowbirds in the lab of Jeffery Lucas . Ruiyu joined the Sisneros lab at the University of Washington in September 2015.

Research
Ruiyu's research investigates the effects of reproductive state and age on hearing sensitivity in the zebrafish (Danio rerio). Her research involves using two techniques to measure auditory sensitivity in zebrafish: 1) Auditory Evoked Potential (AEP), a physiological measure of auditory sensitivity, and 2) Prepulse Inhibition (PPI), a behavioral measure of hearing sensitivity. Ruiyu is also interested in central auditory processing in the plainfin midshipman fish.
