Yeechi Chen joined the Rolandi group in the summer of 2011 to work on the visual communication in nanotechnology project. Her interest is in learning how well-designed illustrations can improve science education. She received her Ph.D. in physics from the University of Washington in 2009 under the supervision of David Ginger (Chemistry), with work on the properties of fluorescence near plasmon resonant metal nanoparticles. She also completed the Natural Science Illustration certificate program at UW in 2010.
