The
focus of this conference is on the economies of China,
Taiwan, and Hong
Kong. Papers that analyze the following issues are
particularly welcome: economic relations between these three economies
and the rest of the world; the relations between economic growth,
foreign trade, and foreign direct investment in these economies; these
three economies in the Asian financial crisis; foreign trade issues and
the possible accession to the WTO. Both theoretical and empirical papers
are welcome.

31, 2000 a copy (or an abstract not shorter than 200 words)
of the paper, preferably an electronic version by e-mail,

the symposia should be of high quality and should not be being
considered for publication elsewhere. All papers submitted are subject
to referee review and editorial acceptance/rejection.
People attending the conference are welcome to
participate in a conference on "International
Economics and Asia," which will be held at City
University of Hong Kong just after the present conference, July 21-22,
