Symposia: Symposia in Journal of Comparative Economics for selected papers are being planned.

The focus of this conference is on the economies of China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. Papers that analyze the following issues are particularly welcome: economic relations between these three economies and the rest of the world; the relations between economic growth, foreign trade, and foreign direct investment in these economies; these three economies in the Asian financial crisis; foreign trade issues and the possible accession to the WTO. Both theoretical and empirical papers are welcome. 

People interested in presenting a paper please send by March 31, 2000 a copy (or an abstract not shorter than 200 words) of the paper, preferably an electronic version by e-mail, to:

Papers intended to be submitted to the symposia should be of high quality and should not be being considered for publication elsewhere. All papers submitted are subject to referee review and editorial acceptance/rejection.

People attending the conference are welcome to participate in a conference on "International Economics and Asia," which will be held at City University of Hong Kong just after the present conference, July 21-22, 2000. Please click here for more information.
