Outstanding Academic Title |
|
War at Risk: A Global Issues Sourcebook,
which contains a chapter on "World Trade" I wrote, has
been selected "Outstanding Academic Title" for 2002 by
Choice magazine.
"Arranged alphabetically,
"AIDS" to "World trade," the 30 contributions in this
encyclopedic analysis of the world's major challenges
are written by specialists, many connected with
universities or research institutions. Contributors to
the ecology sections are listed simply as "freelance
writer." Each topic is broadly explored, covering
historical background and development, current research,
policies and programs, regional summaries, and case
studies. Each is accompanied by tables,
maps, and statistics, and each ends with biographical
sketches, a directory of organizations, sources for
further research, and excerpts from official documents.
Like all CQ's publications, this work is characterized
by analytical excellence. Recommended for all reference
collections. M. Strange University of Wisconsin--LaCrosse."
