CAUTION!! In Excel, the function "rsq" may return a
Pearson r rather than a Person r-squared. Be sure to check on it if you use
  Excel.

Recalibration of reading and homework estimates
  - Because of my new schedule for teaching
my class, I need to re-estimate readings and homework schedules. Usually I
overestimate how much reading and homework is needed and then take HW problems
away on the Wednesday before a test. This time -- sorry -- I underestimated
and will need to add both more reading for this week and more homework due
    this Thursday. So...
Readings #0 and #1: (Relevant to lectures
to be given weeks of 1/7 and 1/14)
  - Preface, Introduction Chapter, and Chapter
    1
Additional reading for week of 1/14 (relevant
  to Exam 1)
Homework #1: Due Thursday, 1/17/2003 at 12:30 PM
  - Chapter 1:1-4, 6, 9, 10, 12, 14, 15, 18,
    21
Additional problems for Homework #1: Due Thursday, 1/17/2003
at 12:30 PM (relevant to Exam 1). NOTE:
Depending on how much material I get through on Wednesday, some of these problems
may be dropped from HW #1, and will show up on HW #2
  - Chapter 2: 1, 3, 4, 8, 10, 11, 15
Class forum:
  - The class forum URL is: https://catalysttools.washington.edu/gopost/board/justthis/3907/
Syllabus correction
  - On the syllabus, p. 2, under "Course
Grading", 2nd paragraph, 2nd line, replace "these four scores"
with "the three remaining supplemented midterm exam grades"
Section assignments
  - Please pick up section assignment list from
    here.

Greetings!
  - This site contains information that will
be relevant to Psychology 317-317 during Winter and Spring Quarters of 2008
(readings, homework, etc). Please bookmark it and check it at least once per
day. Newest information will be at the top of the page, but I will retain
    all information throughout the quarter.
Documents that you will need. You should
have a copy of the syllabus and the first few pages of the Handout packet from
  the first day of class.
Emailing questions to me
  - I get 100 - 200 email messages a day and
it takes me a very long time to go through them. So I'd like you to be circumspect
in emailing questions to me. If you have a question that needs an urgent answer,
then phone me, stop by, or email me. However, if the question can be answered
by a TA, then please direct it to your TA or any TA. If the question can wait,
ask someone during ofice hours, or raise the question in section or in class.
    Thanks
Sections
