Brain Awareness Week - 1998 Workshop for UW Neuroscientists

During the workshop for UW neuroscientists, participants viewed a short slide presentation titled "Neuroscience in the Classroom". This slide show introduced workshop attendees to methods of presenting hands-on, interactive materials during a visit to a school.

The workshop attendees then worked through several stations; each station had several hands-on activities that could be used during a school visit. These stations included: Comparative Neuroanatomy; The Senses; Helmet Safety; Reaction Time Testing; Brain/Neuron Modeling.

Each participant received:

• One Brain Awareness Week Poster
• One CD-ROM "Changing Your Mind: Drugs in the Brain"
• 30 Brain Awareness Week Buttons
• 30 Copies of the DANA Alliance for Brain Initiatives pamphlet "Brain Connections"
• 30 Copies of the DANA Alliance for Brain Initiatives pamphlet "Unlocking the Mysteries of the Brain"
