Biography
Yi He attended Zhejiang University in 1996. He graduated in 2000 with the highest honor and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering. In 2003, he received his Master of Science in Biochemical Engineering, also from Zhejiang University. From 2003 to 2008, he attended the University of Washington in Seattle, graduating with a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering under the guidance of Prof. Shaoyi Jiang. He then joined Corning Incorporated as a postdoctoral research engineer. After one year with Corning, he moved back to Seattle and continued doing his research in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Washington. In 2012, he joined the Zhejiang University faculty in the Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering. In 2013, he received the Qiushi Young Scholar of Zhejiang University award and was selected to join the Young Scientist Career Development Program of Zhejiang Province. In 2019, he became a member of the editorial board of Molecular Simulation. In 2022, he was appointed as an Affiliate Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Washington, Seattle.
His research interests have been primarily focusing on multiscale modeling and simulation for micro and nano fabrication, biomaterials and biomolecules, energy storage and conversion, and environmental engineering. The goal of his research is to develop new technologies which protect human health, advance nanofabrication, and protect environment without sacrificing economic viability and efficiency.
