Welcome

The Quasar Variability Project is dedicated to help teach future data-mining astronomers the tools and techniques being used today. A unique feature of this project is its authors: a team of undergraduate students who developed all exercises and wrote all tutorials as an independent research project. The exercises are based on the quasar variability research being done at the University of Washington by prof. Željko Ivezić, his Ph.D. student Chelsea MacLeod, and their collaborators.

The site includes various activities designed for high school and undergraduate students, and some reference materials. Please explore the site, participate in the activities, and do let us know if you have any questions!
