  2. 3/6/00. We will not cover the material in Chapter 15, Government Debt and Budget Deficits. We will cover the material in Chapter 14, Stabilization Policy, this week. The last homework assignment is on the homework page. You do not have to turn it in. I will post solutions on Thursday.

  3. 3/6/00. The final exam is scheduled for 10:30-12:20 p.m., Monday, Mar. 13, 2000.

  4. 2/29/00. There is a mistake on the homework page for this week's assignment. I mistakenly indicated that the hw is from chapter 12. The hw should be from chapter 13. Sorry. ez.

    http://depts.washington.edu/careerwk/

Of special interest to economics students is the panel on Wednesday, February 2, 3:30-5:30 pm in SAV 239: ANALYZE THIS! A panel of analysts from different employment sectors, all of whom are UW alumni, some who received their degrees in economics, and 2 members of the Economics Visiting Committee, are featured in this special session.

This session is hosted by the Economics Undergraduate Board and the Economics Department.

  8. 1/26/00. The Economics Undergraduate Board offers free tutoring for econ 301. Tutoring is available in Savery 144 at the following times:

  10. 1/25/00. Please bring a blue book and a calculator for the midterm on Thursday. The midterm will be a closed book exam and will cover chapters 1-4 and the appendix to chapter 5. You are responsible for all of the material in these chapters not just the lecture material.

  11. 1/19/00. For those interested in subscribing to the Wall Street Journal, an online sign-up is available here

  15. 1/11/00. There Macrobytes software on Mankiw's textbook webpage is not fully operational. The data plotting tool is up and running. Check this out, it is really cool. The module not running (and also not listed on the webpage)  illustrates the use of the macro model developed in the text. I am told that it should be available by the end of January.

  16. 12/31/99. There will be no class on Thursday, January 6. I will try to schedule a make-up class.
