The Neuroscience for Kids "Site of the Month" for December is "MyBrainRobbie.org" at:
MyBrainRobbie.org is one of the few web sites about the brain for young children. The site was created for children 6-12 years old to promote good brain health and increase awareness about the importance of brain health for everyone. The central feature of the site is a six-minute video starring "Robbie" the brain. Robbie shows viewers ways to take good care of their brain. Teachers can download several worksheets they can use after their students watch the video.

Do you think that the Neuroscience for Kids web site needs to be redesigned? Or do you like the look of the current site? Now is your chance to let me know. I've got a possible new look for the web site and I'd like your advice. All of the pages from the old site have not yet been converted to the new design, but you can have a preview of the new design and let me know what you think. You can see the possible new site at: https://n-coding.net/sandbox/
Compare this new site with the existing site at: http://faculty.washington.edu/chudler/neurok.html
Which design do you like better, the new site or the old site? Let me know: chudler@uw.edu

Are you a teacher who will be at the National Science Teachers Association meeting in Seattle (December 12-14, 2019)? If so, perhaps you can attend a session when I will present. I'll be involved in two sessions, both on December 13 (Friday). In the first session, I will collaborate with the Dana Foundation in a presentation titled "Introducing the Nervous System with Models" from 8:00 to 9:00 am in Room 604 of the convention center. In this session, we will present some simple ways to model neurons and the brain. In the second session titled "Neuroscience + Engineering + Technology: Neural Engineering for Secondary STEM Classrooms," I will team up with some high school teachers who will showcase some great neural engineering activities at the Center for Neurotechnology. This session will be held from 2:00 to 3:00 pm pm in Room 310 of the convention center.
I hope to see you there!
