COVID

Info about the UW's response to COVID-19, including current policies, is posted here.

The University of Washington is committed to making our university community a safe and healthy place for all faculty, staff, and students. To this end, we are all required to wear a mask during class regardless of vaccination status. Single-use masks will be made available near hand-sanitizing stations in buildings across the UW Bothell campus if you forget to bring your own approved face covering. Eating and drinking are not allowed in class. Please be aware that you will be asked to leave the class and a report may be filed with UW Bothell’s Office of Student Conduct if you are not in compliance with this mandate. More information about the UW's mask policy is here and here.

We are meeting in a classroom with windows, and I'll open the windows during class. You may want to bring jacket.

If you are sick, stay home.

If you have been exposed to anyone with COVID, stay home.

If I am sick or exposed to COVID, I will stay home. My hope is that I will continue to be able to offer class remotely with a Zoom session at our usual time to replace our normal in person session. I have two children, one of whom is too young to be vaccinated, so I have some risk of getting sick, either with a normal cold or COVID.

If you need to attend our face-to-face class remotely, you may do so. Keep in mind that our face-to-face classes are designed to help you complete this course, so attending either in person or remotely will help you a lot.

If we need to switch to online teaching, we will! We'll continue with our usual meeting, we'll just have it by Zoom intead of meeting in person.
