I am a physical therapist currently employed as a Lecturer at the University of Washington - Department of Rehabilitation Medicine (Division of Physical Therapy)
The overall goal of my research is to develop objective measures of fine motor control using technological advances in the field of robotics for individuals with Parkinson’s disease (PD). The long term goal of this research is to develop these measures into clinical markers by studying their potential to help detect early impairments in physical performance, monitor subtle changes in severity of the disease as well as monitor effects of therapy (medication as well as exercise) on disease progression in PD.
I am also an active clinician with the Life Care Centers of America for part of my time.
