Here are the powerpoint slides for John's ESS 431 lecture on: (i) glacial deposits, landforms and landscapes, (ii) reconstructing glaciers and ice sheets from their imprint on the landscape, and (iii) dating deposits and geomorphic surfaces created by glacier ice. The photos, maps and diagrams are not all mine. Some of the diagrams come from books (e.g. Benn and Evans; Glaciers and Glaciation, Hodder, London, 2010). Other material like the shaded relief images and photos have been compiled over the years by those of us who've given this lecture: John, Greg Balco, Michele Koppes and Dan Morgan.

If you really want to, you can download the entire 28 MB Powerpoint file.

That's it for this page.
