UW botany senior Elizabeth (Eli) Kristy is our fungal expert. The collections she has made in Yangjuan are just part of her mycological work in China; she is also working in Zoige county in the ethnically Tibtan part of nortwestern Sichuan. Here Eli prepares a label for one of her specimens. |
| Eli made a thorough collection of every fungus she could find in Yangjuan, including these little, as yet unidentfied specimens found on a wooden structure. She also wrote a brief analysis of the relations between human ecology and the types of fungi found here. |  |
