Claire’s March Goals

This has been reposted from our lab tumblelog

My main goal for this month is to analyze samples examining methylation during early oyster development.  Now that I have my files in a recognizable format for visualization and analysis I can start comparing sperm, egg, and larvae samples methylation patterns and am excited to thoroughly dive into this data.  I will investigate the similarities and differences between these samples and will document my findings in a manuscript I’m currently working on.  This will give me a better shot at winning Pub-a-thon this year (watch out Mac)!  Aside from my main goal of analyzing this data I want to continually strive to practice reproducibility with my research.  I began this project working with 28 very large files which has proven difficult, and I want to ensure that everything pertaining to this dataset and project is thoroughly documented and reproducible.
