This has been reposted from our lab tumblelog

My goals for this month are to continue to explore alternate ways to analyze and visualize my whole genome bisulfite sequencing for gonad tissue.  I would like to use some of the R packages for DNA methylation analyses such as methylkit along with a few others.  I also hope to start my heat shock experiment, since the turnaround time to sequence these samples with be a couple of months.  I’d like to get these samples submitted if possible before I start TAing the Shellfish class this spring.

I just returned from the NSA conference in Nashville.  My first conference as a graduate student was great and I was able to present a poster on preliminary results from our research characterizing DNA methylation in the Pacific oyster.
