BPOLST 500 STudents IN the MEDIA
Back to Teaching Traffic demand-side management relies on changes in drivers' behavior. Students in BPOLST500 reached out to several target populations.

NEWSPAPERS

Students submitted their editorials and letters to editors of the following local newspapers: Seattle Post-intelligencer, Seattle Times, Seattle Weekly, Stranger, and Ballard News Tribune. Their letter to the editor entitled "Roads and Traffic" has been published online by Seattle Post-intelligencer on November 24th, 2007.

They sent news story tips to the same newspapers. A story entitled "GoLoco.org helps rideshare seekers" was published in the West Seattle Harald/White Center News on December 5th, 2007 (page 3). The same story also appeared in UW Daily on November 30th, 2007.

Public Service Announcement on KOMO TV Northwest Afternoon
Students creatively used the KOMO TV opportunity "Present your Organization". They produced a
Public Service Announcement to encourage people to ride a bus. The announcement aired on KOMO TV Northwest Afternoon show on December 6th, 2007.
