Amath 535 is a course in mathematical ecology. This course considers models, methods, and issues in population and community ecology. Topics will include the effects of density dependence, delays, and demographic stochasticity, and age structure on population growth; population interactions (predation, competition, and mutualism); applications of optimal control theory to the management of renewable resources; and simple spatial models for biological invasions.
