This is a remake of the PS2 Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty which came out in 2001. In the main single player game, there is really nothing different from this game and the PS2 version. Because of it's age, I really couldn't get into playing this game. The controls were too cumbersome for me and since I didn't really like the game it was based on, this turned out to be more frustrating that fun for me. I actually game up playing after spending about 2 hours trying to like the game. If I were you, I'd recommend Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater instead. It is a much more enjoyable game.
