I've got some mixed feelings for this game. On one hand, it stays true to the Onimusha form. It has most of the same gameplay and style as the previous two installments of the series. It also makes some improvements in the controls. No longer are the controls like the classic Devil May Cry, but instead, they are more like Devil May Cry. This translates into much faster gameplay. Also, this game has the absolute coolest intro movie in the history of videogames. This alone is worth the price of admission.

The only complaint I would have for this game is that it is really hard to critical hit people. This is the feature which made the other Onimusha games fun to play. Essentially, if you timed your strike right, you could defeat pretty much any enemy in a single blow. However, in this game, it’s really hard to figure out the timing and the game is not very forgiving. For this reason, I like Onimusha 2: Samurai's Destiny more.
