This is an interesting idea. Basically, with this cable, you can link your Gameboy Advance to your Gamecube and use the GBA as a supplemental controller, or map screen, or anything else that the game designers can think up with. For example, in The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, you can use the GBA to control a little fairy that flies around. A second player can control the fairy to drop bombs, find secret passages, and do other fun things. In theory, this is a very good idea and there are a lot of games that do support this link feature, however, I feel that in practice, this is a little cumbersome. I guess I don't really have an accurate opinion of this because I've only used it with two games, Metroid Prime and the Wind Waker. In Metroid Prime, I was able to unlock the original Metroid on Gamecube, which is cool and all, but I didn't play it much. In the Wind Waker, although it probably has the most extensive link feature available today, I never used it much simply because you don't need to an its almost like a nuisance to hook it up and get a second person to play with. The game wasn't designed as a two-player game and mostly, the second person is just watching you play and not doing anything.

In my opinion, I think you should probably wait until there are some games that really make good use of this feature until you pick it up.
