Man oh man, what a deal. Nobody really knows why the Dreamcast bit the dust. It is a beautiful system that is probably at least as good as the PS2 but for some reason, it died and is now discontinued. I never really had any interest in picking one up until I saw hold cheap the system and the games were. I picked up a used Dreamcast, controller, and all the cables at Software Etc. for only $29.99! Not only that, but to sweeten the deal, they also threw in a free, new VMU card (a $7.99 value)! I mean, you can't beat this considering I paid $199.99 for the PS2 with no memory card.

The system itself is a great addition to any collection. It has some really beautiful games and the best part is that since it’s discontinued, you can get most of the games for really, really cheap (like $5). This is amazing considering that most of the games can easily compete with PS2 or Gamecube games in terms of complexity, fun, and graphics. The only problem is that it may be difficult to find complete games (with instruction booklets and boxes) for the system now that it's discontinued.

The only possible reason why this system went down was possibly because of the long load times and somewhat small library of games. At its time of demise, I estimate that there were probably as many games as the Gamecube has now. Unlike the Gamecube, most of the games aren't aimed at a younger audience and most seem to be pretty good. For the life of me, I don't know why Dreamcast was discontinued; I've had a great experience playing mine so far.

In conclusion, even if you don't play games, you can buy the system and melt it down for raw plastic and I still think you're getting a good deal. If you like cool games with great graphics at bargain prices, for only $29.99 you're going to be getting an amazing deal.
