Its always hard to review controllers unless there's something horribly wrong with one. I haven't had much experience with the Dreamcast controller but I can tell that its a good controller. It is pretty large (not as big as an Xbox controller) but it feels very nice in your hands. The controller is necessarily large in order to fit some of the cool features in. The coolest feature is that the memory card for the Dreamcast actually plugs into the controller. The VMU card fits inside the top of the controller. There's a window in the controller so you can see any information or graphics that are displayed on the VMU card. There is a second slot for another VMU card or for other accessories such as a microphone for online games. In my opinion, these are pretty cool and innovative features that aren't included on any other system.

The only possible drawback of the stock Dreamcast controller is the shoulder buttons. You can push these buttons like an inch before they bottom out. This could be a problem for fighting games where quick button presses are necessary. However, the buttons are analog and does record how far down you press the button. For games that require analog shoulder buttons (i.e. strafing) it works very nicely.
