We are interested in understanding arousal neurobiology across multiple scales, integrating findings at the molecular, synaptic, circuit, physiological, and behavioral levels. We also adapt technology to enable bidirectional modulation of arousal with molecular and circuit-specificity. Our work aims to address outstanding problems in anesthesiology, critical care medicine, sleep medicine, and addiction medicine.
