Cecilia Tran

Cecilia graduated from the University of Washington with her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry in 2017. Since joining the lab in January 2017, her current research has focused on identifying small molecules that serve to reduce the concentrations of Smith-Lemli-Opitz Syndrome (SLOS) biomarkers in cellular models and characterizing these biomarkers using HPLC-MS/MS. Her interest in both science and its application to human health have motivated her to pursue a future career in medicine, and she hopes to use her research to grasp some of the underlying concepts behind neurodevelopment disorders in children. Outside of academics, she enjoys spending time outdoors both hiking and running, as well as swimming and playing piano.
