Purpose of the DIRL

The purpose of the DIRL is to improve the quality of Disaster Information and Technology-related research and publication by capturing the majority of peer-reviewed academic knowledge at that intersection that is presented in the English language worldwide. The goal is to provide authors and reviewers access to the body of current academic knowledge, provide keyword searches to better inform research, and provide accuracy and reliability in citations. In doing so, the DIRL aims to improve the use of this knowledge relative to Disaster Information and Technology and have a formative effect on the domain moving forward.
